Our adult bible studies are really thriving as Alan Amavisca fearlessly leads the group!  Pray for perseverance and growth within the community.

New Years Eve

We love putting on Community wide events, but we love it even more when the community puts on their own events!  That is truly the goal of LOT318; to equip the people to create their own opportunities for growth and fellowship.  On New Years Eve, the community put on their very own block party!  They had a bounce house, food, music, pinata and even Aztec dancers!  What an awesome, fun night this was!!

Now let’s take a look back at December…

We finished up our HW Club for the year with an awesome Christmas gift!  Orange Lutheran High School and Yorba Linda HS Baseball Team donated some Christmas trees to our students, so each of our HW Club participants got a Christmas tree for their family!  What an awesome way to celebrate the holiday!!!

Our Thursday night bible studies continued through the Christmas season, including a special night of ornament making with our kids.  Thank you to all our faithful volunteers who supported the community this Christmas season!!!

December Events

Here is what is going on this month!

Our first board meeting: Meeting with our potential board members to make this thing official!

Homework Club: We have one more week of HW club before Winter break.  We are still in need of many more volunteers come the new year, so please contact us if interested in serving!

Bible Studies:  Our studies will continue throughout the month

New Beginnings

Our adult bible studies are now in full swing!  We have switched nights to Thursday, and have an incredible leader, Alan Amavisca.  Alan is a former missionary in spanish countries across the world and has planted over 15 churches.  He is assisted by Carlos, a member of a local spanish church.  We have an average of 20 adults in attendance each week, with new people from all over the community coming to learn!

A PERFECT day of THANKS and GIVING!

Our Thanksgiving feast went off without one single hitch!  From our early morning set up to the very last chair being loaded into the semi, we could not have asked for a smoother event.  Thank you to all who served with us and took time out of their holiday to serve others!  Check out the pics!

Parking is at Melrose Elementary and if that location is filled then you can park at the community center (Whitten Center) next to Melrose Elementary.

From the parking lot to the event:

Walk towards Melrose and LaJolla St.

Proceed over bridge (57 freeway overpass)

Cypress St is the first street on the left.

(There will be signs directing all volunteers to the event)

Arrival Times and check-in:

If you signed up for 8-10 please arrive by 8am and check-in at the LOT318 EZ-up

If you signed up for 9-10 please arrive by 8:45am and check-in at the LOT318 EZ-up

If you signed up for 10-11:30 please arrive by 9:30 and check-in at the LOT318 EZ-up
(Our festival begins at 10am and we want to make sure everyone is at their location)

If you signed up for 11:30 – 1:30 please arrive by 11am.
Check-in at the LOT318 EZ-up and then proceed to the Serving Orientation at the end of the cul-de-sac.
If you were asked to serve in a particular role please look for Savana or Letty and we will fill you in with specific details.

We are preparing to serve 1500 meals and would appreciate your prayers for good weather.

Here is how you can be praying for us this month!

Thanksgiving Feast: Please pray that we have enough volunteers to make this annual event a success!  We currently need approximately 100 more volunteers to make this day happen.  Last year we fed 1500 people, so lets pray that we get over 1500 people this year!

Homework Club:  HW Club is going strong but we desperately need more volunteers every day.  We have between 30 and 40 students participating daily with about 3 volunteers.  Please contact us if you are interested in serving with us!

Finances:  As we have established our own 501c3, we now need to fundraise!  If you are interested in financially giving, or in helping us fundraise please contact us!

Thank you for your prayers every month, and for all you do to make LOT318 a success!  Lives are being changed everyday and it is because of your service with us!

Family Fun Fest!

Every year, we are blessed to be given access to the Family Fun Fest at Friends Church Yorba Linda!  Each of our students who participate in our HW Club were given wristbands for the rides, and were hosted by a LOT318 volunteer for the evening of fun!  We had about 40 kids and volunteers all decked out in costume for the night!  THANK YOU to all our volunteers!!!!!  Our students look forward to this event every year!
